********************A letter to Non Custodial Parents and their families:****************************************
Dear Non Custodial Parent and Family:
The Board Members of the Coalition of Fathers and Families NY, Inc. (FaFNY) want to thank you for your past support for families in New York State in the past. We also want to let you know that as we are an all volunteer organization 100% of your donations have gone to help keep fathers and their families together. We have been working right along for social and political change to make it better for families. The work continues to this day. But we can’t do it alone, we need your help.
We have plans to open a Fatherhood Institute, one of the first in the nation, right here in the Capital District and have been assured of financial support from Senator Joseph Bruno this year, 2005. We have met with, and continue to meet with, elected officials and policy makers to change policies for the betterment of families. We continue to lobby for legislation such as shared parenting and mediation for the benefit of our children through FaFNY-Political Action Committee. We continue to provide input into the Office of Child Support Enforcement to ensure that the voices of non custodial parents are heard when it comes to financially providing for our children. We continue to present testimony to the NYS Courts on the plight of fathers and families. We continue our up to date and timely research into the effects of family dissolution on our children and their families. We continue to advocate on behalf of the membership and fathers and families across NY. An integral part of the “we” in continuing this work is the funds provided by your membership dollars and you standing up to be counted as a member.
By renewing your membership and continuing your financial support you are part of a movement to strengthen families and care for our children here in New York. Additionally, as FaFNY Members are automatically signed up for membership with our national affiliate, The American Coalition for Fathers and Children (www.ACFC.org) you are part of the national movement to improve families for the benefit of our children including the new national ad campaign promoting parental rights! By sending in your membership dues you are joining people like FaFNY Member, Actor John Heard, the father in the Home Alone movies, who in real life here in NY was denied “custody” and not allowed to be a father to his own child. You join everyday heroes like David Mysliwiec, who in addition to donating his time as Treasurer of FaFNY, financially supports the organization and new member John T. Barton, Jr. from Buffalo, NY who recently joined at the Gold Level of $500. You join family advocates like Board Members Debby Fellows and Steve Campbell who together bring years of experience and time donated to working for Fathers and Families. You join people like FaFNY VP Randy Dickinson who donates his time and works over 40 hours a week lobbying and advocating for fathers and families. You join our national spokesmen, Michael McCormack ACFC Executive Director and Dr. Stephen Baskerville, ACFC President who work tirelessly in speaking out for Fathers, Families and Children in our national office in Washington, DC.
Join us, the members of FaFNY who speak for the 2.5 million non custodial parents here in New York State, and with your tax deductible donations, financial support and membership we can continue the fight to make things better for us, and most importantly, for our children and their present and future.
As always in support of children and families, On behalf of The FaFNY Board of Directors and ACFC,
Mr. James Hays, FaFNY President.
